Ángela Varo Moreno is an Andalusian violinist, performer, and composer recognized for her distinctive voice at the intersection of jazz, flamenco, and contemporary music. Alumna of the Berklee and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she studied on full scholarship, she has developed an artistic practice that integrates composition and performance while exploring themes of cultural identity, Andalusian roots, and Roma heritage.
She has performed internationally as a member of the Grammy-nominated Global Jazz Messengers under Danilo Pérez and has collaborated with renowned artists across jazz and flamenco traditions. Alongside her performing career, she is a faculty member at Phillips Academy and an active composer, with projects that bridge tradition and contemporary expression.
Through her work as a performer and composer, Ángela continues to create music that connects cultures, expands artistic boundaries, and contributes to the evolving language of contemporary jazz and new flamenco.
